Same pattern, different fabric width: a three-shirt Teagan example

The same 12 Teagan body and sleeve cuts fit in 3.25 m of 140 cm fabric or 5.26 m of 110 cm fabric in these calculated layouts. Download both plans and the prepared projects. Neck strips need extra fabric.

What the two layouts show

Both layouts use one fabric layer across the full width, a 1 cm edge margin and a 1 cm gap. All 12 cuts fit in 3.25 m at 140 cm width and 5.26 m at 110 cm. None were unplaced.

These are calculated lengths for these settings, not guaranteed minimums or savings. FreeSewing also requires a separate neck strip. It is absent from the source SVG and both lengths; measure it from the original pattern and allow extra fabric.

The cuts and their preparation

FreeSewing’s Teagan SVG has fronts and backs intended for the fold, plus sleeves. Three shirts need 12 finished cuts: three fronts, three backs and six sleeves.

For these single-layer layouts, the front and back were mirrored along their fold edges before import. PatternNest does not unfold them automatically. Download the prepared full-outline SVG or .pnest projects; the original half-outline SVG is also included. .pnest stores parts and settings, not a calculated layout.

Change it for your fabric

  1. View the finished SVG layouts. For your variation, download a prepared .pnest project.
  2. Change fabric width, edge margin, gap, rotations and quantities. Check one-way or matching prints yourself.
  3. Recalculate. This 12-cut project needs the version 1 license for calculation and new export. Up to ten cuts are free to calculate and export.
  4. Allow extra for neck strips, shrinkage, cutting mistakes and print matching.

Download and inspect the files

The .pnest files hold prepared parts and settings; finished layouts are SVG downloads. Both the original and prepared full outlines and the MIT notice are included.

Check before cutting

The layout omits internal notches, grainline arrows and labels. Refer to the original pattern for these.
